To help eliminate prejudice and discrimination against LGBT people, and to promote their well-being through emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth.

 COIL led the Entourage on the Lavender Pen Tour, sponsoring the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus and Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir on an eight day journey through five Southern states, singing to thousands.  Shown here on the steps of the Capitol in Jackson, Mississippi.

Providing time, talent, and treasure to religious and social LGBT organizations in furtherance of their mission to eliminate prejudice and discrimination and/or to promote emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth. This includes the provision of volunteer consulting services in fundraising, governance, organizational development, and strategic planning, as a board member or project manager.
 COIL sponsored the commissioning of Tyler’s Suite, a nine-composer song cycle which has been performed in over 15 cities around the US.  Joining Founder Jane Clementi and the Board of the Tyler Clementi Foundation at a strategic planning retreat, with a mission to end all online and offline bullying in places of work, education and faith.

Promotion of LGBT arts, and working to elimination discrimination, through joint LGBT and non-LGBT individual and group work using artistic expression methods that promote emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth. 

 COIL supports the affirming and important outreach of Grace Cathedral in many ways, including sponsoring the annual  Carnivale  Gala.  COIL also supports the  Crescendo  Gala for the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus, and the  Upstander Legacy Celebration  Gala for the Tyler Clementi Foundation, and seeks to promote collaboration between these three organizations.
